Davis and Jones

The Library of Ideas artwork is made up of objects donated by people living in the Easton. During the building of the Junction 3 Library and Learning Centre (between 2010-2012) Davis & Jones met with residents, construction workers, and visitors to collect these objects and the stories behind them. The result is an everyday and extraordinary collection installed in the entrance foyer to the building, forming a portrait of the rich community of this area.

The objects have been arranged according to their stories into a number of categories that reflect the character of this neighbourhood.

The accompanying book, The Library of Ideas, includes these stories.

Davis & Jones would like to thank everyone who has taken part in the project and donated objects.

The Library of Ideas was commissioned by Bristol Libraries, and funded by Bristol City Council and Knightstone Housing Association.
